Upon reviewing Roger's findings, the Commission voted to accept the <br />property as a City park. Staff will follow up to ensure that all the conditions of the MnPCA <br />are adhered to. <br />IV. Future Improvements and Plans for Lions Park <br />John Rask informed the Commission that the Lions are interested in expanding their <br />building on the Lions Park property. Further, Mr. Rask suggested that the Commission <br />start to think about the future use of Lions Park once Public Works finds a new site and the <br />well and water tower are removed. Additionally, the Commission needs to make a decision <br />on whether or not the tennis courts should be repaired or removed. <br />V. Northern Pines Development Review <br />The Commission reviewed the development plan for Northern Pines, which is a twinhome <br />development planned for the former Jesperson property located east of Highway 61 <br />between 125th and 1301" Streets. Upon reviewing the plan, the Commission recommended <br />that the developer pay fees in lieu of land dedication. <br />VI. Revised Plans for Waters Edge — Pulte Homes <br />The Commission reviewed the revised development plans for Waters Edge, including the <br />future school site. The Commission reviewed the plan and found them to be similar to the <br />original approval, with the exception of the trail being removed from the greenway. Upon <br />discussing the trail and the location of wetlands, the Commission recommended that staff <br />and the developer examine the feasibility of placing the trail back in the greenway. <br />VII. Acquisition of Rice Property <br />John Rask informed the Commission that the City had received grant money for acquisition <br />of the Rice Property on Lake Plaisted. Because of the size of the parcel, the property will <br />like remain as vacant open space or some other low intensity use. <br />VIII. Trail on 130th Street west of Fenway Boulevard <br />John Rask informed the Commission that a resident had requested that the City consider <br />constructing a trail along 13011 Street west of Fenway. Upon review and discussion, the <br />Commission found that there are higher priorities for new trails and that the City should <br />focus on these areas prior to 130th Street. Additionally, the Commission noted that there is <br />a trail connection immediately north of 13011 Street that provides a necessary connection to <br />the trail along Fenway <br />IX. Updates: <br />The Commission received updates from the Planning Commission, City Council, and CD <br />Director John Rask. <br />
