Fran Miron, Mayor explained that the City Council looks for direction from the Parks <br />Commission in regards to this decision. City Council reviews policies issues on funding <br />for staffing to assist in making final determinations on any positions. The Parks <br />Commission was asked to weigh the need for a staff person to meet future goals. <br />Schmidt made a motion, Berger second to approve the Parks Planner job description <br />with contingency of some changes to the listed job requirements and recommended that <br />it be brought to the City Council for approval. <br />Debi Close, Parks Secretary took roll call. <br />Strub - Aye <br />Windisch - Aye <br />Rauschendorfer - Pass <br />Clark - Aye <br />Taylor - Aye <br />Berger - Aye <br />Birch - Nay <br />Schmidt — Aye <br />Motion Carried. <br />III. Further Discussion on Lions Park <br />Scott Anderson, Public Works Director provided a proposal from Brand -X for skate park <br />equipment for discussion. <br />Jim Taylor made a motion, Berger second to direct staff to finalize cost of concrete slab, <br />fencing, schedule a public meeting with vendors and Hugo youth. <br />All Ayes. Motion Carried. <br />IV. Discussion on Lions Park Teen Program <br />Shayla Syverson, Economic Development/Parks Intern discussed the Memorandum on <br />Teen programs in Lions Park. Richard Chakolis of WBL Community Services and <br />Recreation, Shayla Syverson and Scott Anderson met with several teens to discuss a <br />potential program to be offered and gathered input. Times/days, activities and types of <br />programs were the main focus. After receiving feedback, a proposed calendar was <br />created with a tentative schedule of activities based on the feedback. White Bear Lake <br />Community Services and Recreation proposed to share costs of two employees to carry <br />out the program. <br />Strub made a motion, Clark second to allocate $1,500 for staffing cost and $500 for <br />activity supplies and equipment for the teen program. <br />All Ayes. Motion Carried <br />
