Update on the Health Sub -Committee <br />Parks Planner Shayla Syverson gave an update on the Health Sub -Committee. The City <br />of Hugo was approved for a $4,000 Statewide Health Improvement Program grant for <br />advertisement and promotion of community physical activity. The Health Sub - <br />Committee is planning a family bike ride at the end of September. It was said that the <br />family bike ride is a great idea, everyone can get involved. Discussion included the <br />budget and course also. <br />IV. 2011 Goal Settina and Caoital <br />Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner presented a recap of the 2010 accomplishments. The <br />Parks Commission discussed a list of goals related to park, trail and open space <br />development; recreation programs, athletic facilities and marketing. Specific trail <br />connections to complete in the next year were identified and included in the goals. <br />Snow removal on trails and new recreation programs were also discussed. The Parks <br />Commission looked at the balance of the park fund and a tentative budget for 2011. <br />Larsen made a motion and Berger seconded to approve the 2011 Parks, Recreation and <br />Open Space Goals as drafted at the meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />V. Set Date for 2011 Sledding Party <br />The Parks Commission discussed upcoming events. Taylor made a motion and <br />Windisch seconded to set the date of the third annual Sledding Party for Saturday, <br />February 12, 2011. <br />VII.
