Soccer Clinic
Day/ Time: TBD
Hanifl Fields Athletic Park
Chair Jim Taylor and Staff will meet with Dave Scheer of the Whit Bear Soccer
Association on March 4, 2011 and give an update at the Parks meeting of March 9, 2011.
Skate Camp
9:00am - Noon
Dates: TBD
Lions Park
3`d Lair is able to host a Skate Camp at the new skate park in Lions Park. The camp is
geared to teach a variety of skills to beginners of all ages. The program can be 3,4, or 5
days for an open number of participants. They provide an instructor for every 5
participants registered. The cost per participant is $160 for the 5 day camp. 3`d Lair
receives 80% of the total registration fees collected. Anticipated Revenue: $190
Movie Night
TBD Friday in May and August 8:00pm- 11:00pm
Lions Park or Hanifl Fields Athletic Park
The Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission have discussed holding a movie
night in the summer in one of the parks. The cost of renting a screen and sound system as
well as fulfilling the public performance license requirements was prohibitive to holding
an outdoor movie night. Sponsorships may make it more affordable for the City of Hugo
to hold a movie night in a park. Staff recommends holding a movie night in May or
August due to the time of sunset. Budget: $2,000 + $1,000 in sponsorships
3. STAFF RECOMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Parks Commission approve this plan for holding recreation
programs in the spring and summer of 2011.
