ABRAUER
& AssoclATEs, LTD.
A orisron of wse &associates, Inc. engineering • planning • environmental constriction 701 Xenia Avenue South
Suite 300
Minneapolis, MN 55416
Tel: (763)541-4600
Fax: (763) 541-1700
Program Meeting Summary
To: Shayla Syverson & Project Task Force Members
From: Amanda Prosser, Brauer & Associates, Ltd.
Date: July 12th, 2012
Re: Lions Park Master Planning Project — Program Meeting Summary
Overview: The first kick-off / programming meeting for the Lions Park planning process was attended by
Tom Windisch, David Stroh, Tom Weidt, Flyod Petti and Denny Route. The goal of the meeting was to
create a program list of activities and facilities people would like to have considered for the park and
confirm that previous planning ideas are still valid.
The following outlines the main topics and ideas covered at the meeting:
Lions Events
a. The Lions utilize the following for the `Good Neighbor Day's' and `Hugo Hoedown'
events:
b. 40 x 100' tent (for the beer garden, games, and covered shelter) this accommodates 700-
800 people. A 60 x 120' covered tent or structure would be preferred.
c. Sewer
d. Water
e. Power (the power supply is inadequate and would like to have 800 amps)
f Fencing (could be temporary) for the beer garden (currently use the tennis and basketball
courts along with the lawn area between the ball fields and courts)
g. 15-20 portable restroorns
h. Space for carnival rides and a petting zoo
2. Skate Park
a. The skate park equipment is fairly new and used frequently. It is important to keep this
activity within the park and re -use the equipment, which can easily be moved.
3. Play Area
a. A neighborhood -sized play area should be incorporated that has play features for all ages.
b. The current equipment was installed in 1998 with volunteers. It does not appeal to all
ages and is showing some wear.
4. Community Center
a. This park should be the new community center and provide activities for all ages and
have day-to-day appeal.
St. Cloud • Minneapolis • St. Paul
Equal Opportunity Employer
wsbeng.com
