Background Memo <br />Approve Minutes From November 14, 2012 Meeting <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes from the November 14, 2012 Parks <br />Commission meeting. <br />2012 Annual Report <br />A report of the 2012 achievements of the Parks, Recreation and Open Space <br />Commission will be presented. <br />III. Goal Setting <br />Each year, the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission sets goals for <br />the following year. These goals are reviewed by the City Council and used to set <br />city-wide goals. In the last two years, the Parks Commission has set goals <br />related to park, trail and open space development, recreation programming, <br />athletic facilities and marketing. <br />The Parks Commission is also given a budget to work with and has been <br />directed review and approve a Capital Improvement Plan annually. A CIP for <br />2012-1017 was approved in 2012 and is included in the packet for review. <br />Staff recommends discussion on 2013 goals. At the January 9, 2013 meeting of <br />the Parks Commission, a draft of the goals will be presented which may be <br />recommended to the City Council. <br />-2- <br />Parks Commission <br />December 14, 2012 <br />
