Backaround Memo <br />Approve Minutes From May 9, 2012 Meeting <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes from the May 9, 2012 Parks <br />Commission meeting. <br />Lions Park Master Planning <br />Staff met with Brauer and Associates to discuss the next steps of master <br />planning Lions Park. Potential stakeholders have been identified. Two or Three <br />Parks Commissioners should be appointed to participate in the stakeholder <br />meetings. <br />The anticipated schedule for master planning Lions Park is: <br />Stakeholder Meeting #1 Wednesday, July 11 from 5:30-6:30pm <br />Identify and define the development concerns, recreational uses, <br />site amenities, and facilities which are desired and appropriate. <br />Stakeholder Meeting #2 Wednesday, August 8 from 5:30-6:30pm <br />Review 3 conceptual master plans and provide feedback. Decide on a <br />preferred plan, or a combination of plan ideas. <br />Public Review of Preliminary Master Plan Wednesday, September 12 at the <br />regularly scheduled Parks Commission meeting <br />Review landscape plan, phasing plan, cost estimates, and structure <br />sketches along with the concept plan preferred by the stakeholder group. <br />Invite residents to comment. Suggest plan revisions and make a <br />recommendation to the City Council for a final master plan. <br />Master Plan Approval Monday, October 15 at the regularly scheduled City <br />Council meeting <br />A recommendation from the Parks Commission will be presented to the <br />City Council for approval of a Master Plan for Lions Park. <br />Staff recommends appointment of 2 or 3 Parks Commissioners to the Lions Park <br />Master Plan stakeholder group. <br />-2- <br />Parks Commission <br />June 13, 2012 <br />
