Ill. Hardwood Creek Trail and 145th Sidewalk Updates <br />At the February 8, 2012 meeting, the Parks Commission directed staff to work <br />with Washington County in planning the extension of the Hardwood Creek Trail <br />from 145th to 140th and to look at the grade and ensue that the trail is accessible <br />and easy to maintain. <br />At their meeting of March 5, 2012, the City Council approved recommendations <br />from the Parks Commission and the EDA and directed staff to work with <br />Washington County in planning the Hardwood Creek Regional Trail extension <br />from 145th Street to 140th Street and ensure that it has the proper grade to be <br />accessible and that the grade and tree line to remain south of CSAH 8 to <br />continue to provide a buffer for the residential neighborhood. An update will be <br />given on Washington County's future plans for development of the Hardwood <br />Creek Trail and surrounding connections. <br />In 2010, neighborhood meetings were held to discuss reconstruction of the <br />streets near City Hall. At that time, residents were not interested in a road <br />project. The sidewalks along 145th Street continue to require maintenance and <br />repairs. The City Council directed staff to review the options. City Engineer Jay <br />Kennedy provided the Council with options at their meeting of June 4, 2012. <br />Staff will provide an update on the discussion. <br />IV. Recreation Program Updates <br />Staff will provide updates on current recreation programs including The <br />Geocaching Adventure as well as upcoming programs including Park Play Days, <br />the 3`d Lair Skate Camp and the Skyhawks Sports Camps. <br />-3- <br />Parks Commission <br />June 13, 2012 <br />
