Ill. Hardwood Creek Trail and 145th Sidewalk Updates
At the February 8, 2012 meeting, the Parks Commission directed staff to work
with Washington County in planning the extension of the Hardwood Creek Trail
from 145th to 140th and to look at the grade and ensue that the trail is accessible
and easy to maintain.
At their meeting of March 5, 2012, the City Council approved recommendations
from the Parks Commission and the EDA and directed staff to work with
Washington County in planning the Hardwood Creek Regional Trail extension
from 145th Street to 140th Street and ensure that it has the proper grade to be
accessible and that the grade and tree line to remain south of CSAH 8 to
continue to provide a buffer for the residential neighborhood. An update will be
given on Washington County's future plans for development of the Hardwood
Creek Trail and surrounding connections.
In 2010, neighborhood meetings were held to discuss reconstruction of the
streets near City Hall. At that time, residents were not interested in a road
project. The sidewalks along 145th Street continue to require maintenance and
repairs. The City Council directed staff to review the options. City Engineer Jay
Kennedy provided the Council with options at their meeting of June 4, 2012.
Staff will provide an update on the discussion.
IV. Recreation Program Updates
Staff will provide updates on current recreation programs including The
Geocaching Adventure as well as upcoming programs including Park Play Days,
the 3`d Lair Skate Camp and the Skyhawks Sports Camps.
-3-
Parks Commission
June 13, 2012
