Need to expand for projected 2000
participation.
Note: High school programs not included in above table. Comments and suggestions can be found in the
following summary.
Major Issues
✓ Need for gym space. Additional indoor gym space is necessary for both volleyball and basketball
programs. Currently, the lack of gym courts in good condition is limiting participation in these
programs. A large indoor space could also accommodate off-season soccer practice and free up gyms
for basketball and soccer.
✓ Need for large, irrigated, dedicated soccer fields. Majority of soccer fields currently are not irrigated
and do not maintain good playing condition. Overlap of soccer fields with other sports facilities
hinders the soccer programs. Year round demand for soccer pushes need for good indoor facilities.
✓ Need for regulation size football field within school district that is irrigated, lighted, and in good
playing condition. Currently, one game field is used and is inadequate both in size and condition.
✓ Lighting suggested for both tennis courts and softball fields to allow for extended hours of use, and to
attract more participation in programs.
✓ Need for large, regulation baseball/softball fields for practice and game time, preferably with several
fields at a site. Need for 75' and 90' base fields. Lighting at play field sites would increase
tournament play and practicelgame time.
✓ Need for improvement & expansion of indoor ice facilities.
✓ Lack of community swimming pool facility limits participation. Need competitive pool facility to meet
community needs.
✓ Need for more accessibility to play fields and bathrooms, drinking fountains, concessions.
Pv As: ,.Tss 1
