Background <br />Parks Commission Meeting of August 14, 2013 <br />Hugo City Halt, 7:00pm <br />1. 7:00pm Approve Minutes From July 10, 2013 Meeting <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes of the Parks Commission meeting of July 10, 2013. <br />2. 7:03pm Fable Hill Park Request <br />At the meeting of July 10, 2013, the Parks Commission heard a presentation from representatives of the <br />Fable Hill neighborhood requesting consideration of Outlot A for development as a park. Outlot A is city - <br />owned and will be receiving a final grading, topsoil, and grass seeding summer of 2013. A motion was <br />made and seconded to direct staff to setup a plan and to put together a needs analysis. <br />Please see the attached memo. <br />Staff recommends discussion on the proposed plan to develop Fable Hills Outlot A. One of the 2013 <br />goals of the Parks Commission was to review the neighborhood park service areas. A city-wide needs <br />analysis of neighborhood park service areas is planned to be included in the annual goal setting and <br />capital improvement planning. Staff recommends that the Parks Commission consider development of <br />Fable Hill Outlot A during the city-wide neighborhood park needs analysis. <br />3. 7:20 pm Dog Park <br />At the meeting of February 13, 2013 the Parks Commission started discussion on development of a dog <br />park. Other dog parks were reviewed and Staff was directed to compile a list of potential locations for <br />consideration. <br />At the meeting of March 13, 2013 the Parks Commission identified what an ideal property would include <br />for the future dog park and reviewed several properties. The property criteria included: <br />• 10 acres in size (option to double would be a plus) <br />• 20-40 parking spots <br />• No low areas <br />• Mix of wooded/ shaded areas an open space <br />• Minimal potential neighborhood issues <br />
