3. PROPERTY OPTIONS: <br />Irish Avenue Park <br />The City of Hugo purchased 125 acres of a restored gravel pit located off of Irish Avenue <br />north of County Road 8. The property is currently used for passive recreation such as <br />cross country skiing and geocaching. Dogs are currently allowed off -leash at this park. <br />It is planned to be an active park and include things such as ball fields. This park is not <br />master planned and the future uses and their locations are not known. <br />Clearwater Creek Preserve Park <br />Approximately 100 acres has been acquired by the City through park dedication. The <br />property is west of the Bald Eagle Industrial Park. It is adjacent to and accessed through <br />the Fable Hill residential neighborhood. This park is currently used for passive recreation <br />therefore dogs are currently allowed off -leash at this park. The park is currently accessed <br />off of a cul-de-sac with 2-4 parking spots. A'/2 mile wood chip trail currently allows for <br />passive recreation opportunities. A creek currently prevents convenient access to over <br />half of the property. Several areas of the property are wetland and are unusable for much <br />of the year. <br />*Please see attached site sketch of usable spaces. <br />Compost Site <br />A 2 acre city -owned property off of 1701h Street is currently used as a compost site. Its <br />future use is not known. Adjacent property may be available for purchase which is a mix <br />of small hills, wooded areas and has a couple ponds. <br />City Owned Property <br />The City of Hugo owns over 40 acres north of downtown Hugo, City Hall and St. John <br />the Baptist Cemetery. This property is mostly wetland and is largely unusable. <br />Public Works/Rice Lake Park <br />Immediately south of the location of Hugo's public works building and the Hanifl Fields <br />Athletic Park is the Rice Lake Park. This park is 50 acres and is bordered on the north by <br />the Paul Hugo Farms Wildlife Area. It is not currently used. <br />*Please see attached site sketch of usable spaces. <br />City Owned Property (Hwy 61) <br />The City of Hugo owns approximately 7 acres of property in the Bald Eagle Industrial <br />Park. The long and narrow property is bordered by an active rail and Hwy 61 on the east <br />side and Schweiters' industrial buildings on the west side. Access would have to be off <br />the north side of the property. The Hugo American Legion, Rick's Liquor, and North <br />Country Auto Body are located at the north side. There are adjacent parking lots, but <br />they are built to accommodate use by the businesses only.
