Page 2
Concept Two:
• Least liked concept.
• Don't like the massive parking lot on the west end — this would just be more parking for
the assisted living residents to look at which would not be appreciated.
• Skate park too far away from viewing.
• Parking is too far away from the main pavilion.
• Feel the playground and splash pad need to be close to each other.
• Don't like Fitzgerald completely cut off.
Concept Three:
• Liked the alignment of parking, memorial and shelter in relation to City Hall but should
verify with City employees that the parking lot modifications are acceptable.
• Like the long linear green space that can be separated for different uses at the same time.
• Move skate park just north of the parking lot by City Hall for better viewing.
• Like that Fitzgerald goes through but the parking lot design makes them slow down to
maneuver.
• Like the curvilinear parking lot on the west side that is more appropriate for a park rather
than one massive parking space.
• Would like the general skating to meet up to the main pavilion.
• Assisted housing may appreciate active site use for residences to view.
• Off street parking along 146th street is appreciated for quick parking or drop-off/delivery
(location adjacent to active park elements).
Updated Proiect Schedule:
Conceptual Design
• Early January: Meet with stakeholders to discuss conceptual plans
• January 14th: Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission Meeting — City to provide
project update to the Commission members.
• February 2nd: City Council Meeting — City to provide the three concept plans and
comments to the City Council for comment.
Master Plan design
• WSB to prepare one refined/preferred master plan design with estimate of probable costs
• February 11th: Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission Meeting — WSB to present
Preliminary Master Plan for review and comment.
• February 16th: City Council Meeting — WSB to present Preliminary Master Plan for
review, comment and adoption.
