Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for June 6, 2016 <br /> Page 5of6 <br /> Council discussed the new banner design and agreed with Council Member Haas to include a <br /> banner showing Hugo as a Yellow Ribbon City. If the Council wanted to move forward on other <br /> ideas of the Beautification Subcommittee, it could be discussed at the midyear budget review. <br /> Klein made motion, Haas seconded, move forward in purchasing new banners as well as <br /> incorporating Yellow Ribbon Network banners into it. <br /> All Ayes. Motion carried <br /> Yellow Ribbon Network Update <br /> Council Member Chuck Haas and Phil Klein reported to council on recent activities of Hugo's <br /> Yellow Ribbon Network. District Four Judge Greg Galler, Attorney Pete Orput and others put <br /> on a mock veterans court, and Haas thanked Judge Galler for his volunteer time. WSB <br /> employees received the Patriot Award. This day was the 72°d anniversary of D-Day, and Haas <br /> thanked all veterans. Northland Fence is hosting a movie night fundraiser for YRN. The YRN <br /> supported a request from an army widow to help pay for homeowner's insurance. The Hugo <br /> Lions have chosen the YRN as beneficiary of their golf fundraiser on August 14th. Xcel Energy <br /> was sponsor of the last month's Hamburger Night, and Mark Schowpe, Keller Williams Realty, <br /> will be next month's sponsor. A certificate of appreciation was received from the 682 Engineer <br /> Battalion. Haas talked about his trip to Kuwait where 150 military members were served steak <br /> dinner. <br /> Council Photo and City Administrator Performance Review on Tuesday, June 13, 2016 <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded the Council that a meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, <br /> June 13, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. for the Council photo shoot and the annual performance review of the <br /> City Administrator. <br /> Reschedule July 4, 2016 Meeting to July 5, 2016 Due to Independence Day Holiday <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear recommended Council reschedule their first regular Council <br /> meeting in July to Tuesday, July 5, 2016 due to the Independence Day Holiday on Monday, July <br /> 4, 2016. <br /> Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to reschedule the July 4 meeting to July 5, 2016. <br /> All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> U.S. Bicycle Route 41 Open House on Thursday,June 9, 2016 <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council that MnDOT is developing a new bicycle <br /> route, U.S. Bicycle Route 41, which will connect Hugo to St. Paul and Grand Portage State Park <br /> at the Canadian border. An open house will be held on Thursday, June 9 from 4-6 p.m. at the <br /> White Bear Lake Police and Fire Building, 4700 Miller Avenue, to learn more about the route <br /> and provide input. This was posted as a potential quorum of the Council in case Council wished <br /> to attend. <br />
