Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for June 20, 2016 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />date on the 129th Street Bridge Improvements. <br />Approve CUP Renewal for Thommes and Thomas Land Clearing <br />Tom and Joanne Benick requested approval of a renewal of the conditional use permit (CUP) on <br />their property generally located south of 165th Street, west of Forest Boulevard. The CUP allows <br />for the processing and storage of firewood, recycling of tree waste, and wood chipping and, the <br />operation of a mobile air curtain furnace. The permit is to be renewed every two years. On June <br />15, 2016, staff inspected the property and found it to be in compliance with the approved CUP <br />conditions. It was in staff's opinion that the applicant meets the conditions listed in the CUP. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the renewal of the CUP for Thommes and Thomas <br />Land Clearing. <br />Yellow Ribbon Network Update <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Phil Klein provided an update on recent activities of the City <br />of Hugo's Yellow Ribbon Network. Northland fence had rented a movie theater in Mounds View <br />for special screening of Independence Day on June 23, 2016 with all proceeds going to the Hugo <br />YRN. Members of the National Guard, including some soldiers from Hugo, are in training in <br />California. The 1481h Fighter Wing out of Duluth is currently deployed to Korea, the 131St <br />Infantry Regiment is going to Egypt, and the 168th Engineer Battalion is already in Kuwait. They <br />had sent the YRN a certificate of appreciation of their support. Haas welcomed back former City <br />Parks Commissioner Dan Gabriella who served as a pilot in the Air Guard. He was recently <br />reassigned to the east coast and is now back as a new commander of the 131St Air Wing. <br />Wednesday is burger night and Keller Williams Realty will sponsor it. Haas thanked everyone <br />who helped in the kitchen at Good Neighbor Days. <br />CIP Workshop on Monday, June 27, 2016 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded Council of the workshop scheduled for Monday, June <br />27, 2016 at 7 p.m. to discuss the CIP for City streets. The workshop will be held at Hugo City <br />Hall. <br />Forest Lake YMCA Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, July 14, 2016 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council the Forest Lake YMCA will hold a Ribbon Cutting <br />Ceremony on Thursday, July 14, 2016 a 9 a.m. -9:30 a.m. follow by tours from 9:30 — 11 a.m. The <br />YMCA is located at 19845 Forest Road North in Forest Lake. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to schedule the YMCA Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, July 14, <br />2016. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
