PLANNING COMMISSION UPDATE: <br />At its August 25, 2016, meeting the Planning Commission considered and held a public hearing <br />on the request. Staff recommended approval of the request to the Planning Commission. The <br />applicant only spoke during the public hearing. The Planning Commission agreed the request met <br />the necessary criteria to approve the minor subdivision and variance and unanimously <br />recommended approval to the City Council. <br />2. DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: <br />The applicant is requesting approval of a minor subdivision and variance of a 20 acre parcel <br />located at 10100 17011 Street North. The minor subdivision will split the 20 acre parcel into a 15 <br />acre parcel and 5 acre parcel. The variance is for the size of the 5 acre parcel, where the <br />minimum lot size is 10 acres in the Agricultural (AG) zoning district. There is currently a house <br />and accessory building that is located on the proposed 5 acre parcel. <br />3. CONTEXT: <br />A. Surrounding Land Use and Zoning <br />The property is currently zoned Agricultural (AG) and contains a single family home and <br />accessory building on the westerly portion.
