Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for August 15, 2016 <br />Page 2 of 7 <br />make a donation to the Hugo YRN for their upcoming Pheasant Hunt. Vice Commander Doug <br />Lodermeier, Jr., Post Commander Brad Johnson, and Sergeant at Arms Andrew Kitt, presented a <br />check in the amount of $2,500 to the Hugo Yellow Ribbon Network to support the 15th Welcome <br />Home Pheasant Hunt. <br />U.S. Bicycle Route 41 Bike Trail — Liz Walton, MnDOT <br />Liz Walton from the MnDOT presented to Council information on U.S. Bicycle Route 41. She <br />explained the route will be approximately 325 miles long and connect existing roads and trails <br />between St. Paul and Grand Portage State Park. It is part of a new nation-wide bicycle network <br />and will be designated as a priority corridor in Minnesota's Statewide Bicycle System Plan. <br />MnDOT anticipates the route will receive official designation by fall 2016. There are no plans to <br />build any facilities, just combine roads and bike trails. It is hoped that this trail designation will <br />provide a boost to local economies. Liz requested Council approve a resolution supporting U.S. <br />Bicycle Route 41 through Hugo. <br />There was questions on why it was called Route 41. Liz explained that it was a national <br />numbered network system of cross country bike routes. The public is invited to go online to vote <br />on five proposed names. <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve RESOLUTION 2016-22 STATING ITS <br />SUPPORT TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT U.S.BICYCLE ROUTE 41. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approval of the Consent Agenda <br />Weidt made inion, Klein seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda items. <br />1. Approval of Claims <br />2. Approve Annual Performance Review for Public Works Worker Matt Klein <br />3. Approve Ordinance Opting out of Family Temporary Health Care Dwellings Statute <br />4. Approve Resignation of Firefighter Michael Wamsley <br />5. Approve Amendments to the Hugo Firefighters Relief Association Bylaws <br />6. Approve Resolution Approving Interim Use Permit for Bolicek-9480 140th Street <br />7. Approve Resolution Approving Final Plat and Development Agreement for Clearwater <br />Cove 3rd Addition <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approval of Claims <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Claims Roster as presented. <br />
