4. Goal Setting <br /> Denaway provided the 2016 goals and the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission discussed goals for <br /> 2017. The main topics included: <br /> Trails: identifying needs, developing, connectivity, improvements, reviewing the current trail plan, bike trails, <br /> snowmobile trails and cross country trails <br /> Parks: prioritizing Irish Avenue Park above Lions Park Planning, complaints, use, plan policies, park land/fee <br /> donations with developments,future park use/needs with study research, defining long term vision in future <br /> parks, public interest in planning future parks <br /> Recreation Programs: continue successful programs, experiment with new programs and continue <br /> partnerships <br /> Other:Cost for Lions Park projects,funding and tax options,the feasibility study, planning process timeline, <br /> research current trends for use/needs <br /> 5. Other <br /> Rauschendorfer requested staff to look into the property east of 8 and west of Diamond Point to determine if <br /> there is high ground that could have a bituminous path/trail constructed for pedestrian use off of Goodview <br /> Avenue North. <br /> 6. Adjournment <br /> Tennyson made a motion, Cathy Moore-Arcand seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:48 pm. <br /> All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
