BACKGROUND MEMO FOR HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON FEBRUARY 6, 2017 <br />D.1 January 3, 2017 City Council Meeting <br />D.2 January 17, 2017 Goal Setting Session <br />D.2 January 21, 2017 Fire Department Annual Banquet <br />Staff recommends Council approve the above minutes as presented. <br />F.1 Parks Commission Annual Report <br />Parks Planner Shayla Denaway will present to Council the Parks Commission 2016 Annual <br />Report. <br />G.1 Approval of Claims <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br />G.2 Approve Appointment of Andrew Tiernlund on the Planning Commission <br />On October 20, 2015, Council conducted interviews to fill a vacancy on the Planning <br />Commission. Andrew Tjernlund interviewed at this time along with two other candidates. They <br />were all very qualified to serve; however, Lynn Patzner was selected to fill the vacancy. <br />Commissioner Patzner has since resigned from the Planning Commission. Staff recommends <br />Andrew Tjernlund be appointed as a Planning Commissioner to fill the vacancy with a term to <br />end on December 31, 2020. <br />G.3 Approve 2017 Spring and Fall Cleanup Dates for April 22, 2017 and October 14, <br />Public Works Director Scott Anderson has worked with Washington County to secure Saturday, <br />April 22 and October 14 for the spring and fall cleanup dates. As in the past, the event will take <br />place at the Public Works Building from 8 a.m. to noon. Staff recommends Council approve <br />April 22 and October 14 as the spring and fall Citywide Cleanup Dates for 2017. <br />GA Approve Advertisement of Bids for the 2017 Dust Control Proiect <br />Staff is requesting authorization from the City Council to advertise for bids for the City's 2017 <br />gravel road dust control project. The City of Hugo currently applies dust control to <br />approximately 28 miles of gravel roads located within its municipal boundaries. Following <br />City Council approval, staff will advertise and solicit bids through our City newspaper and will <br />hold a bid opening at 1:15 PM on March 22, 2017. This will be followed by the Council <br />considering bids in April. The dust control/stabilization would be applied in two separate <br />applications, once in mid-May and again in early to mid-August. Staff recommends approval <br />of authorization to advertise for bids for the City's 2017 gravel road dust control project <br />
