G.10 Approve Award of Quote for 147th Street Sidewalk Improvement Proiect <br />The City solicited quotes for the sidewalk extension along 147th Street from Foxhill Avenue to <br />Highway 61. This is the last section of sidewalk needed to complete the trail connection from the <br />Sweet Grass Meadows and Rice Lake Meadows neighborhoods to the downtown area and the <br />Hardwood Creek Trail. The City received two quotes with the low quote being submitted by <br />Arnt Construction in the amount of $87,997.00. Staff has reviewed the quotes and recommends <br />the Council award the 147th Street Sidewalk extension to Arnt Construction. <br />G.11 Approve Resignation of Firefighters John Brockberg and Denise Jones <br />Hugo Firefighters John Brockberg and Denise Jones have both submitted their letters of <br />resignation from the Fire Department. Staff recommends Council approve the resignations of <br />Brockberg and Jones effective January 17, 2017. <br />G.12 Approve Resolution Approving the Pursuance of Agreement with MnDOT for <br />Improvements to TH61/170th Street Roundabout Landscaping. <br />In 2013, improvements were made to the TH61/170th Street intersection to include a roundabout <br />and center island. The City has since questioned whether the improvements were constructed <br />per plans and had contacted MnDOT in June of 2016 requesting an evaluation of it. It was found <br />the island was not constructed as a mound nor maintained for a two year period as agreed. <br />MnDOT has a Community Roadside Landscaping Partnership Program that would provide <br />technical and financial assistance to fund up to $10,000 of the cost to re -landscape the <br />roundabout. Staff recommends Council approve the resolution approving pursuance of a <br />cooperative agreement for this program. <br />H.1 City Council Focus Goals and Ongoing Priorities for 2017 <br />The Council held a goal setting workshop on Tuesday, January 17, 2107 for the purpose of <br />setting goals and priorities for 2017. City Administrator Bryan Bear has compiled items <br />discussed during the workshop and will review them with the Council. Staff recommends <br />Council approve the goals as presented or schedule another workshop to further discuss and <br />prioritize goals and ongoing priorities of the Council. <br />K.1 Update on Yellow Ribbon Network <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Phil Klein will report to Council on the Yellow Ribbon Network <br />activities held recently. <br />L.1 Cancel Second Meeting in February Due to President's Day Holiday <br />Annually, the President's Day Holiday falls on the same day as the second Council meeting in <br />February and would need to be rescheduled. Staff does not anticipate any items for that meeting <br />agenda and recommends Council cancel their meeting of February 20, 2017. <br />
