The Forest Lake Wavemakers is a non-profit booster organization whose mission is to support
and promote the Forest Lake high school aquatics programs. This includes boy's and girl's
swimming and diving, and the synchronized swimming program.
We work with the High School Athletic Department to ensure these programs have the adequate
resources (staff/equipment) to compete effectively.
Finally, we advocate for the aquatic programs throughout the greater Forest Lake area to develop
and encourage future participants at the high school level.
Fundraising for much of the equipment used by our aquatic teams is our primary objective.
Thanks to the efforts of our athletes, parents, coaches, family and friends we've been successful
at raising money for items in the past. Examples: Starting Blocks, Scoreboard, Timing System
(Software), Sound System, Lane Lines, Swim Equipment and Banners (recognizing athletic and
academic success)
Items that we're currently fundraising for include:
• Training Gear (additional fins, snorkels, pull buoys, kickboards)
• Pool Equipment (extra lane lines, cables, cable locks, reels and spring kits)
• Technology (software updates, video recording equipment, underwater speakers)
• Transportation (coach busing for outstate meets)
• Hospitality (food/supplies for after meet team meals and snack bags for visiting teams).
• Assistant Coaching Staff (Better ratio of coach to athlete)
The event is a 5k My School Color Run. This is a down sized event for local schools. With this
run we will hope to have 300 to 500 participants. Our goal for the Color Run event is to raise
$8,000 to $10,000 between donations and sales.
Event details:
Saturday June 0, 2016
8am to Noon
5K Color Run
Tentative Schedule:
Check In starts at 8am
5K Run starts at 9am
Runs completed by 11 am
Registration:
Prior to May 20, 2016 $35.00
From May 20 —June 4, 2016 $45.00
Our My School Color Run has 2 color components. First, there is the liquid color (liquid food
coloring mixed with water) which is sprayed throughout the course. (4 different colors at 4
locations on the course) The second color component is the powder color packets (corn starch
with food coloring) for the final color powder celebration.
Our group would be looking to sell t -shirts, bottled drinks (water & Gatorade) and packaged
snacks (granola bars). No food will be prepared at the site for resale and alcohol will not be
