noise causing systems such as pumps. The Ordinance Review Committee met on February 9, <br />2017 and agreed that the City should begin drafting a pool ordinance. Staff recommends Council <br />approve the preparation of a pool ordinance for Council review and approval. <br />G.5 Approve Hiring of Sarah Rumppe as Community Development Intern <br />On February 14, 2017, the Community Development Department met with applicant Sarah <br />Rumppe for a position as a Community Development Intern. Sarah's responsibilities would be <br />assisting the department in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan updates and other duties related to the <br />department. Staff recommends Council approve the hiring of Sarah Rumppe as an intern in the <br />Community Development Department beginning spring 2017. <br />G.6 Approve Advertisement for History Intern <br />Over the past several years, the Historical Commission has been considering hiring an intern to <br />perform data entry duties related to collected historical pictures, documents, and oral histories. <br />One of the Council's goal for 2017 is to evaluate the future of the Hopkins Schoolhouse. Staff <br />recommends Council approve the advertisement for a History Intern to work on these history <br />related projects. <br />H.1 Approve Plans and Specifications, and Authorize Advertisement of Bids for the North <br />Sunset Lake Improvement Project <br />A meeting was held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 with the residents in the north Sunset Lake <br />street project area. This project includes Homestead Avenue, 132nd Street, Homestead Drive, <br />and 126th Street. City Engineer Mark Erichson will provide Council a recap of the meeting, and <br />request approval of plans and specifications, and authorize advertisement of bids. <br />H.2 Update on Comprehensive Plan Joint Workshop held on February 27, 2017 <br />A joint workshop was held with members of the Planning Commission, EDA, Historical <br />Commission, and Parks Commission as a kick-off to the 2040 Comprehensive Plan update. <br />Planner Rachel Juba will provide a recap of the workshop. Staff recommends Council schedule <br />meetings to attend the openhouse/workshops being held through the year on the Comprehensive <br />Plan. <br />H.3 Update on Water Reuse Proiects <br />An update will be provided to Council on the status of the Waters Edge and CSAH 8 water reuse <br />projects. Staff will also provide an update on DNR permitting and the status of grants for these <br />projects. Staff requests Council consider whether another Water Summit should be held. <br />K.1 Update on the Yellow Ribbon Network <br />Council Members Phil Klein and Chuck Haas will report to Council on the Yellow Ribbon Network <br />activities held recently. <br />
