Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for April 17,2017 <br /> Page 4 of 9 <br /> for MGM for a grand opening celebration subject to approval of the On-Sale Liquor License to <br /> be considered later this meeting. <br /> Approve Award of Bid for the North Sunset Lake Area Street Proiect <br /> At its March 6, 2017 meeting, the Council approve a resolution approving the plans and <br /> specification and ordering the advertisement for bids for the north Sunset Lake area street <br /> improvement project. Streets included in this project are: Homestead Avenue, 132nd Street, <br /> Homestead Drive, and 126th Street. Bids were received and opened on April 6, 2017. City <br /> Engineer Mark Erichson explained there were five competitive bids that ranged from <br /> $1,273, 990.06 to $1,376,986.03, with the engineer's estimate being at $1,430,849.75. Erichson <br /> recommended Council award the bid to the low bidder, TH Schifsky and Son's. <br /> Haas made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the award of bid to TH Schifsky and Son's in the <br /> amount of$1,273,990.06. <br /> Ayes: Haas, Petryk, Klein, Miron, Weidt. <br /> Nays: None <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Public Hearing on Application for On-Sale Wine and Beer Liguor License R & G Services, <br /> LTD dba Red's Savoy Pizza <br /> A public hearing was scheduled for this evening to consider the application of R&G Services, <br /> LTD, dba Red's Savoy Pizza, for a Wine License and a 3.2% Malt Liquor License with a <br /> provision for strong beer. According to City Code, the Council can approve strong beer to be <br /> served under this license as long as 60% of sales is from food. Savoy Pizza is located at 14755 <br /> Victor Hugo Boulevard, and they are currently adding a 2,000 square foot expansion to include a <br /> small bar, tables, and booths in the restaurant area. The applicant had paid the $500 application <br /> fee and successfully completed the background check for the liquor license. Staff recommended <br /> Council approve the application for Red's Savoy Pizza subject to receipt of the prorated license <br /> fee and Certificate of Liability Insurance for liquor. <br /> Weidt opened the public hearing. After receiving no comments, Weidt closed the hearing. <br /> The Mayor invited Jason Ross, co-owner of Savoys Pizza to the podium. Jason stated Savoys <br /> had been in business for seven years and would be providing a selection of domestic and craft <br /> beers on tap. The expansion was expected to be completed in approximately six weeks, and they <br /> would be hiring an additional six to eight employees. <br /> All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
