G '1 <br />z- v CITY OF <br />EST. 1906 <br />�--^ Special Event Permit - Memorandum <br />To: Hugo City Council <br />From: City Clerk Michele Lindau <br />Date: April 13, 2017 for the Council Meeting on April 17, 2017 <br />Re: MGM Wine & Spirits Hugo Grand Open Event on Friday, May 12, 2017 <br />1. BACKGROUND: <br />This event will be held to celebrate their Grand Opening of MGM in the old Rick's <br />Liquor building located at 5441 140'b Street North. A Special Event permit must be <br />approved by the Council because there may be over 200 people in attendance and there <br />will be live amplified music outdoors. <br />2. DESCRIPTION OF EVENT: <br />This event will be held free of charge to the public. The majority of the event will be <br />held in the front parking lot of the MGM store. There will be a band playing a variety of <br />rock music from 4-8 p.m., and food will be sold at a discount from a food truck. <br />Depending on forecasted weather, there may be a 20' X 30' tent erected in the parking <br />lot. Inside the store, alcohol vendors will provide samples in an amount no larger than <br />what is permitted by State Statute 140A.510 SAMPLES. There should be ample parking <br />in the lot behind the store and on the street. <br />3. CONDITIONS: <br />The applicant has provided the City the completed permit and permit fee. In accordance <br />with this permit, the applicant shall conduct the event as described herein and meet the <br />following conditions: <br />1. The applicant shall conduct the event in accordance with the approved plans <br />submitted with the application. <br />2. The applicant shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, <br />rules, regulations, and ordinances. <br />Band will play from the east side of the parking lot, projecting the sound <br />towards the west. <br />4. Signage will be in place to notify attendees that no alcohol maybe consumed <br />in the parking lot. <br />
