Also it seems that a pathway will be made close to our property and this is not really a problem
for us. If a walkway needs to be made within our front yard, we would not be against it, if we do
not have to plow it and if this allows us to get some side yard as an exchange.
2) Architecture:
If possible, some type of continuity in the design with the older homes on 137th as ours and the
new ones would be welcome to limit the demarcation. This would avoid too much of a
depreciation of our houses.
3) Driveway:
Our driveway is extra -large, as it was a request from HUGO fire department when the house was
originally build, to be able to turn around with the fire trucks. We understand that this
requirement will not exist when the road will be opened, but we do not want to be forced to
rework our driveway. We have made large investments, including 3 rental townhomes in Hugo,
and do not have to invest in the driveway, while our house needs major renovations.
4) Traffic:
Is there an estimate of the amount of traffic through 137th street? I understand that traffic will be a
little above 300 trips/hour at rush hours, but is there an estimate of the % of this traffic which
would go through? Our biggest concern is the speed of the cars and a roundabout or speed bumps
might be useful to increase the safety of the kids. It is also true that the new road lay -out proposed
by Excelsior seems curvy enough to prevent any high speeding cars.
5) Construction hours:
Of course, we expect noise for the construction which we imagine will last 3 or 4 years. But we
would like to make sure that the hours are reasonable: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM weekdays only, and no
work during week -ends or holidays. I do not think this is addressed in the EAW.
Finally, it seems that there has been a private meeting with Excelsior on 3/16, but we did not get the
notification, maybe because we just moved in. Please make sure we are now listed with them or that we
can have a "catch-up" session and do not hesitate to communicate our details to them.
Sincerely,
Jerome.
