On Saturday and <br />Sunday, Hyde and Irish Ave. will be closed to event traffic but not local traffic. <br />Signs will be placed in the right-of-ways on CSAH 8 and local roads to direct event <br />attendees to Homestead Ave. to access the parking area off 147th St. Vehicles will <br />also be directed to the north parking lot if necessary. Vehicles will not be permitted to <br />access the event parking area from Irish Ave., and pedestrians will cross Irish at <br />147th St. to access the event. There will be deputies posted on several roads to ensure <br />an orderly traffic flow. Message boards will also be used to inform the public prior to <br />the event of expected traffic delays and direct traffic on the day of the event. <br />On Friday, the Tough Mudder X event will consist of a 1 -mile run with 10 military - <br />style obstacles and ten cross -fit workouts. Two hundred participants and <br />approximately 1,500 spectators are expected to attend. This event will take place on <br />the northwest corner of the Wild Wing property between 12-7 p.m. and will be filmed <br />for a national TV network. Attendees will park in the north lot, and there will be no <br />fee for parking. The lot is expected to hold 1,050 cars, and additional premium <br />parking will be available for 315 cars on the Wild Wings property. The southbound <br />lane of Irish Ave. between 147th and 152nd St. will be closed during the event on <br />Friday, and cars will travel north to enter the parking and north when leaving the <br />event. Also on Thursday and Friday, event organizers would like to park two 53' X <br />8' trucks on the northbound lane of Irish Avenue between the hours of 8 a.m. on <br />Thursday until the end of the event on Friday. Northbound traffic will need to <br />navigate around these vehicles. These trucks are to be used by the filming crew, and <br />the weight of the vehicles requires them to be on a hard -packed surface. During the <br />day, there will be two Tough Mudder staff to manage cars that need to pass, and in the <br />evening, the trucks will be marked with lights and signage. <br />• Cost <br />Participation in the event requires registration and payment of approximately $150- <br />200 per person based on a tiered pricing schedule, dependent on when registration <br />takes place. There will also be a $15-20 fee for parking and a $10 fee for a bag drop <br />(personal belongings dropped in a secure location during the run). <br />• Tents and Services <br />There will be a base area to include approximately 18 tents ranging in size from <br />10' x 10' to 40' x 100'. These tents will be professionally installed and anchored. <br />Banners will be hung on each tent identifying its purpose such as food and <br />beverage, bag drop, information, etc. Inflatables will also be located in this area <br />as well as a sound system in four separate locations. The volumes will not be <br />loud enough to conflict with each other and will be on from 7 a.m. to <br />approximately 6 p.m. each day, with the exception of Friday if the filmed event is <br />delayed due to weather. <br />2 <br />
