Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for May 15,2017 Page 3 of 7 Approve Annual Performance Review for Public Works Worker Rick Kieffer Rick Kieffer was re-hired by the City of Hugo on May 31, 2005, returning after a short period of time in the private sector. Over the past 12 years, Rick has worked under the direction of Public Works Director Scott Anderson. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Annual Performance Review for Public Works Worker Rick Kieffer. Approve Hiring of Olivia Schiffman as History Intern The City received 13 applications to fill the position for a History Intern to assist the Historical Commission in updating their electronic database, and locating, collecting, and preserving historical facts related to the City. A major project for the intern will be to evaluate and make a recommendation on the future of the Hopkins School House. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the hiring of Olivia Schiffman as the History Intern with a start date of June 5, 2017. Approve Appointment of Roger Clarke to the Parks Commission Roger Clarke had been appointed to the Parks Commission June, 2003 and served until December 31, 2012, when his term expired and he decided to not seek reappointment. Roger had requested to serve again on the Commission. . Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the appointment of Roger Clarke to fill the vacant seat on the Parks Commission with a term to expire on December 31, 2018. Approve Special Event Permit for Flips Gymnastics Color Run June on 10, 2017 Flips Gymnastics Booster Club had submitted a Special Event Permit application for approval of a 5K Color Run on Saturday, June 10, 2017, to begin at 9 a.m. at Lions Park. This event requires a Special Event Permit approved by Council because the event is expected to draw between 300- 600 participants and will include the use of the City property and trail. The run will be held in conjunction with Hugo Good Neighbor Days, and the applicant had work closely with the organizers of the GND event. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Special Event Permit for the Flips Gymnastics Color Run on June 10, 2017. Approve Special Event Permit for Fable Hills Block Party on May 20, 2017 Pratt Homes had submitted a Special Event Permit application for approval to hold a neighborhood block party on Saturday, May 20, 2017. This event requires a Special Event Permit approved by Council because there will be alcohol served and there will be amplified sound from a DJ. Staff feels this event is relatively minor and will not affect the health, safety, and welfare of Hugo residents. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Special Event Permit for the Fable Hills Block Party on May 20, 2017 Approve Application for Water Surface Use Permit for David Strub on Sunset Lake On behalf of residents living on Sunset Lake, resident David Strub had made application to the City of Hugo for a Water Surface Use Permit to allow residents to water ski on the slalom course
