Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for May 15,2017 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> Approve Annual Performance Review for Public Works Worker Rick Kieffer <br /> Rick Kieffer was re-hired by the City of Hugo on May 31, 2005, returning after a short period of <br /> time in the private sector. Over the past 12 years, Rick has worked under the direction of Public <br /> Works Director Scott Anderson. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Annual <br /> Performance Review for Public Works Worker Rick Kieffer. <br /> Approve Hiring of Olivia Schiffman as History Intern <br /> The City received 13 applications to fill the position for a History Intern to assist the Historical <br /> Commission in updating their electronic database, and locating, collecting, and preserving <br /> historical facts related to the City. A major project for the intern will be to evaluate and make a <br /> recommendation on the future of the Hopkins School House. Adoption of the Consent Agenda <br /> approved the hiring of Olivia Schiffman as the History Intern with a start date of June 5, 2017. <br /> Approve Appointment of Roger Clarke to the Parks Commission <br /> Roger Clarke had been appointed to the Parks Commission June, 2003 and served until <br /> December 31, 2012, when his term expired and he decided to not seek reappointment. Roger <br /> had requested to serve again on the Commission. . Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved <br /> the appointment of Roger Clarke to fill the vacant seat on the Parks Commission with a term to <br /> expire on December 31, 2018. <br /> Approve Special Event Permit for Flips Gymnastics Color Run June on 10, 2017 <br /> Flips Gymnastics Booster Club had submitted a Special Event Permit application for approval of <br /> a 5K Color Run on Saturday, June 10, 2017, to begin at 9 a.m. at Lions Park. This event requires <br /> a Special Event Permit approved by Council because the event is expected to draw between 300- <br /> 600 participants and will include the use of the City property and trail. The run will be held in <br /> conjunction with Hugo Good Neighbor Days, and the applicant had work closely with the <br /> organizers of the GND event. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Special Event <br /> Permit for the Flips Gymnastics Color Run on June 10, 2017. <br /> Approve Special Event Permit for Fable Hills Block Party on May 20, 2017 <br /> Pratt Homes had submitted a Special Event Permit application for approval to hold a <br /> neighborhood block party on Saturday, May 20, 2017. This event requires a Special Event <br /> Permit approved by Council because there will be alcohol served and there will be amplified <br /> sound from a DJ. Staff feels this event is relatively minor and will not affect the health, safety, <br /> and welfare of Hugo residents. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Special Event <br /> Permit for the Fable Hills Block Party on May 20, 2017 <br /> Approve Application for Water Surface Use Permit for David Strub on Sunset Lake <br /> On behalf of residents living on Sunset Lake, resident David Strub had made application to the <br /> City of Hugo for a Water Surface Use Permit to allow residents to water ski on the slalom course <br />
