Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for May 15,2017 <br /> Page 2 of 7 <br /> The Hugo Lions Club will run the event similar to past years to include a parade, music, food, <br /> beer garden, petting zoo, carnival rides, trout pond, and fireworks. Lions Member Dan Balthazor <br /> and Lions Chair Tracy Thomas explained the event this years was to focus more on things for the <br /> kids and teens to do. They had reached out to the Army who will host an obstacle course, and <br /> Grundhoefer Meats will be sponsoring fireworks. They expect roughly 7,000 to 7,500 people to <br /> attend the event over the weekend. There are bands scheduled for Friday and Saturday night, <br /> and advanced ride passes can be purchased at the Bald Eagle Quick Stop, Holiday Station Store, <br /> Hugo American Legion, and Sagers Liquor. More information can be found on their website at <br /> www. og odnei hg bordays.com. <br /> Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to waive the Special Event Permit fee and provide police <br /> protection for the event. <br /> All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> Klein made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the fireworks display for the event. <br /> All Aye. Motion carried. <br /> Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the Off-Site Gambling Permit for the Hugo <br /> American Legion to conduct bingo at the event. <br /> All ayes. Motion carried. <br /> Approval of the Consent Agenda <br /> Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda items. <br /> 1. Approval of Claims <br /> 2. Approve Annual Performance Review for Public Works Worker Rick Kieffer <br /> 3. Approve Hiring of Olivia Schiffman as History Intern <br /> 4. Approve Appointment of Roger Clarke to the Parks Commission <br /> 5. Approve Special Event Permit for Flips Gymnastics Color Run June on 10, 2017 <br /> 6. Approve Special Event Permit for Fable Hills Block Party on May 20, 2017 <br /> 7. Approve Application for Water Surface Use Permit for David Strub on Sunset Lake <br /> 8. Approve Application for Water Surface Use Permit for Mike Ball on Round Lake <br /> 9. Approve Resolution for Community Roadside Landscaping Partnership Program for <br /> TH61/CSAH4 Roundabout <br /> 10. Approve Water Conservation Grant Agreements with Met Council and Washington <br /> County <br /> 11.
