Draft Goals <br />April 26, 2007 Revised June 8, 2007 <br />• Work with the State, County and/or neighboring communities to coordinate <br />public infrastructure improvements and services. <br />• Protect the local environment and water supply through installation, <br />maintenance and monitoring of on -site sewer systems. <br />• Provide sanitary sewer service within the Urban Service Area as outlined in <br />the Comprehensive Plan. <br />• Provide a City water distribution system to meet City needs in <br />compliance with State standards. <br />• Discourage leapfrog development. <br />21-.19. Provide for a system of parks and open spaces which will <br />satisfy both the active and passive recreational needs of all citizens. <br />Strategies: <br />• Preserve significant open spaces and natural areas. <br />• Identify and develop parkland to maximize local natural features and existing <br />infrastructure. <br />• Promote preservation of natural features and public access when <br />development occurs along the shorelines of streams, lakes and public <br />wetlands. <br />• Recognize regional and county park, trail and open space plans. <br />• Provide a trail system that links local and regional park facilities within the <br />community. <br />• Enhance public parks and open space in accordance with the Capital <br />Improvements Plan (CIP). <br />• Maintain hunting and fishing opportunities within the City. <br />• Maintain opportunities for ATV and snowmobile use in the City. <br />0 <br />
