VOLUME 1, ISSUE 4 JUNE 6, 2007 NEWSLETTER Please Join Us At The June 20, 2007 Public Workshop And Help Plan The Future Land Uses Of Hugo!! Do you know what the future land use of your property is? Do you want the land use to stay the same or change? Do you have ideas about the type of development that should occur in Hugo's future? Where should this development occur? If you have ques- tions like these or are interested in the future land uses planned for Hugo, please join us at the June 20, 2007 Public Workshop for the 2008 Comprehensive Plan on Land Use. The goals and strate- gies from the past workshops will be presented as part of the in- troduction to the land use portion of the Comprehensive Plan. The land use plan for the City guides properties for certain types of development. The land use plan shows where the City expects to see agricultural, commercial, industrial, residential, and other types of development. The City will be soliciting ideas from property owners and residents who would like to see specific land uses planned at various locations in the City. The land use plan only guides future land uses of property and is different from a property's zoning which regulates specific uses that are currently allowed for a property. Update On The May 23, 2007 Workshop Thank you to all who joined us at the May 23, 2007 Public Work- shop. There was great turnout, great comments, and great ideas presented to the City. We appreciate all your help. At the work- shop there was individual and group evaluations of the proposed goals and strategies for the City. The goals were ranked accord- ing to the five most favorable and five least favorable goals indi- vidually. As a group the residents discussed the goals and de- cided whether the strategies for the goals were sufficient. There were comments from the residents that some of the goals could be combined and that there were goals and strategies that need to be added to the list. The goals and strategies will be pre- sented at the June 20, 2007 public workshop and will be avail- able on the City website. .................................
