UPDATE ON DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT <br /> Staff updated the EDA on downtown redevelopment and other happenings in Hugo. <br /> Associated Eye Care has proposed to fill the vacant space in the new Healtheast Building. <br /> Staff hopes to get a representative in for the next EDA meeting to welcome them to the <br /> City. <br /> The Frenchman Place project for a pediatric clinic is still underway. They just had their <br /> Planning Commission meeting on August 9th to approve the Site Plan and Final Plat. <br /> Xcel Energy has broken ground and continues to make progress in construction. <br /> Glamos Wire's proposal for a new addition was approved by the Planning Commission <br /> July 12th and the City Council on July 16th. They are in the process of obtaining a <br /> Building Permit. <br /> NRI has submitted an application for a Building Permit. Staff is still working with the <br /> applicant to issue that permit. <br /> Gusset Design was at the latest Planning Commission meeting on August 9th to approve a <br /> CUP Amendment. The Planning Commission approved the Amendment to allow for the <br /> outdoor Sandblasting Booth that was proposed. <br /> Hugo 1 Stop is in the process of being converted to a Super America. The applicant is in <br /> the process of obtaining a sign permit. <br /> Staff provided information on a Sketch Plan that was submitted by a developer. The plan <br /> proposes to build an Assisted Living Facility to be located on Martin Lavalle's property <br /> that is west of Lions Park. There is a proposal for a right in, right out access point off of <br /> County Road 8. Staff is working with the applicant to develop an appropriate and <br /> feasible plan in terms of layout and road connection. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Granger made a motion, seconded by Puleo, to adjourn at 10:07 am. <br /> All ayes.
