At its last meeting the EDA brainstormed a list of potential 2005 goals. This list has been <br /> updated by staff, and was presented to the Board for the selection of a list of the top ten <br /> goals of the EDA for 2005. <br /> Arcand made motion, Klein seconded to approve the EDA goals list for presentation to <br /> Council at its annual City Council goal setting session. <br /> All Aye. Motion Carried. <br /> D.3 DISCUSSION OF LOT 1 BLOCK 1 IN THE BEIP 5TH <br /> At its last meeting the EDA recommended the City Council remove Lot 1 Block 1 of the <br /> Bald Eagle Industrial Park from the list of available properties; which would allow the <br /> EDA to develop a marketing approach for the site. Staff is seeking EDA direction <br /> regarding the development and marketing of this site. <br /> Community Development Director Bryan Bear made a presentation to the EDA about a <br /> recent meeting with Tom Jackson regarding the purchase of Lot 1 Block 1 in the BEIP <br /> 5`h. Jackson concept plan and an attached letter were presented to the Board for review. <br /> Miron made motion, Granger seconded to form a subcommittee of Granger, Skarich, and <br /> Bever to review property further. <br /> All Aye. Motion Carried <br /> Miron made motion, Granger seconded directing staff to send Tom Jackson a letter <br /> informing him of the EDA's decision to leave the Lot on the "not-for sale" list and <br /> indicate a time frame for when RFP's would be requested. <br /> All Aye. Motion Carried. <br /> E.1 DISCUSSION OF BUSINESS AND FAMILY FUN EXPO <br /> At its January 10, 2005 the Hugo Business Association listened to a proposal from <br /> representatives from Your Neighborhood News and Report, a local monthly newspaper, <br /> who requested support from the HBA for a business and family fun expo in April. After <br /> discussion, the HBA approved the proposal and recommended the expenditure of funds <br /> to support it. The event would take place on Sunday April 17, 2005 at the Hugo <br /> American Legion, and would include presentations from local Hugo business, as well as <br /> a number of children's games, which would be fun for the entire family. The HBA and <br /> the publisher from Your Neighborhood News and Report seek approval from the City of <br /> Hugo and the Economic Development Authority for their public support for the proposal, <br /> as well as attendance at this activity period. Staff will present additional information at <br /> the meeting regarding this HBA proposal. <br /> Katie Riopel spoke to the EDA about this event, and requested EDA support for it. <br />
