EDA MEETING OF APRIL 18, 2005 <br /> City staff recommends the Board approve the minutes for the April 18, 2005 meeting <br /> as presented. <br /> 4. GUEST SPEAKER—DAVE DOBOSENSKI-FAIRVIEW LAKES <br /> REGIONAL HEALTHCARE SYTEM <br /> Fairview Lakes Regional Healthcare System is preparing to locate a clinic within the <br /> City of Hugo. Dave Dobosenski is the Chief Operating Officer of Fairview Lakes <br /> and will be in attendance to discuss the details surrounding the new clinic. Staff <br /> suggests the EDA take the opportunity to welcome this exciting new business into the <br /> community. <br /> 5. MAY 5, 2005 TIF SUBCOMMITTEE REPORT <br /> At the April 18, 2005 joint City Council and EDA meeting, Council and EDA <br /> members listened to a Power Point presentation from Paul Steinman and Mikaela <br /> Huot of Springsted and Mary Ippel of Briggs and Morgan explaining Tax Increment <br /> Financing. The Council and EDA appointed a subcommittee to draw boundaries for a <br /> potential TIF District. The TIF subcommittee consists of Frank Puleo, Mike Granger, <br /> Teresa Charpentier and Nick Skarich. The Committee met on May 5, 2005. Puleo <br /> and Charpentier were absent, and Miron sat in as an alternate. The Committee set <br /> preliminary TIF boundaries for further discussion at a subsequent subcommittee <br /> meeting. City staff will provide a summary of the meeting, and requests direction <br /> from the EDA as to the next steps— �_ r�r�-�-� ��v�—� <br /> 1 <br /> 6. UPDATE ON RFP ON CITY LOT IN BEIP 5TH ADDITION <br /> With direction from the EDA and City Council, the City staff prepared an RFP and <br /> sent it to over 50 developers, posted it on the City's website, the League of Minnesota <br /> Cities website, and listed it on the Minnesota Commercial Realtors Property <br /> Database. So far the staff has received numerous promising phone calls in response <br /> to the RFP. Proposals are due on May 27, 2005, and will be reviewed by the BEIP <br /> subcommittee (Granger, Skarich, Klein). Results of the RFP will be made available <br /> to the EDA at the next meeting. <br /> 7. UPDATE ON PURCHASE OF OLD ANTIQUE STORE AND JIM <br /> POWELL'S HOUSE <br /> CD Director Bryan Bear will provide an update to the EDA related to the City's <br /> purchase of these two properties. <br />
