'- CITY OF <br />+�. <br />�G0 <br />EST. 1906 Special Event Permit - Memorandum <br />To: Hugo City Council <br />From: City Clerk Michele Lindau <br />Date: March 13, 2018 Council Meeting on March 19, 2018 <br />Re: Permit for Wedding on August 18, 2018 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Wedding Planner Rita Swanson has applied for a Special Event Permit for the wedding of <br />Erika Yobbie & Grant Whitaker at their home at 7195 137t' Street North. Special Event <br />Permits are typically not required for weddings; however, the applicant is requesting to <br />use the Hanifl Fields parking area for vendor parking during the event. <br />DESCRIPTION OF EVENT: <br />The event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to midnight on their property consisting of 18 <br />acres located directly across 137a' Street from the parking lot of Hanifl Fields. This will <br />be a fully hosted event with approximately 250 guests attending. There will be a DJ, <br />tents, and porta potties on the site. <br />CONDITIONS: <br />Applicant will provide the City a signed Hold Harmless Agreement prior to the <br />event. <br />2. Amplified music will cease at midnight. <br />3. Guest parking for the event will be on the applicant's properly, and vendor <br />parking will be allowed in the Hanifl Fields parking lot in the area shown on the <br />map. Parking at Hanifl will be permitted on the day of the event and until 1 a.m. <br />the following day. <br />4. No alcohol is permitted off the Yobbie/Whitaker private property. <br />CONCLUSION/RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff believes the event is well planned and recommends Council approve the Special <br />Event Permit for the Yobbie/Whitaker wedding on August 18, 2018. <br />
