It is important to emphasize that the building's relatively stable condition, original location, largely
unaltered interior and exterior architecture, and history as supported by documentary evidence are all
necessary in reaching this conclusion.
Should the owner/s involved choose to pursue inclusion in the National Register, synthesizing available
information on the schoolhouse into an historic narrative, containing additional detail and primary
sources, could be helpful in arguing the schoolhouse's importance in local history. Due to its relatively
late decommissioning as a school, the building's role as a town hall and community center starting in the
1960s likely occurs too recently to contribute to its significance. For that reason, the Statement of
Significance in the National Register application should primarily emphasize the building's role in local
education from 1928-1962, and that it was built specifically for that purpose from a set of plans
published directly by the State of Minnesota's Board of Education. Its more recent history should not be
excluded, but its original use is of primary interest.
