Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for April 2, 2018 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />Klein said he realized the residents were very uncomfortable with this. The Council tries to make <br />certain they meet the resident's goals, but there was not a cohesive plan in place. <br />Klein made motion, Haas seconded, to abandon the trail with the understanding that it may be a <br />possibility if it is ever developed. <br />Haas stated that it is important to listen to residents, and it is a little premature to draw lines on a <br />map if there is no plan at this time. He added that the City needed to look at the safety issues <br />there. <br />Petryk recalled when these parcels were eliminated for any future development, and they were to <br />remain large lot residential, preserving the area for visual enjoyment. She felt they needed to <br />honor those commitment. <br />Mike talked about the need to address immediate concerns regarding safety in the area. <br />Weidt started that it may be premature to have this dotted line and premature to be upset by it, and <br />he was mainly concerned that there was a safety issue. He said the line can be removed but <br />people will continue to walk down the road whether there is a line there or not. Weidt asked the <br />residents to let the City know if there are activity occurring that are a public safety hazard. Weidt <br />felt it was better to leave the line on the plan, but agreed to take it out. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />The Council stated their general approval of the plan. <br />Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to approve RESOLUTION 2018 — 4 APPROVING A <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE FOR THE CITY OF HUGO. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Update on Yellow Ribbon Network <br />Council Members Chuck Haas and Phil Klein updated the Council on the activities of the Yellow <br />Ribbon Network. Haas stated the YRN had held their 19ffi Welcome Home Pheasant Hunt the <br />past weekend and the event was filmed by Ron Schara Production. Hamburger night last week <br />was sponsored by the Arcand Family and Oneka Ridge Golf Club and 208 burgers were sold. <br />They have Burger Night sponsors for the rest of the year, and next month's sponsor is Dan <br />Gallatin. The YRN assisted a Gold Star family with car repairs. The Fairview Clinic had a candy <br />book exchange and they donated the collected candy to the YRN for care packages. Girl Scout <br />cookies will also be sent. He asked that if anyone who knew a deployed military member to send <br />a package to, they should provide him an address. <br />Board of Appeals on Thursday, April 12, 2018 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded the Council the Local Board of Appeals and <br />Equalization was scheduled for Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 5:30 — 7 p.m. in the Oneka Room <br />at Hugo City Hall. <br />
