Tough Mudder Twin Cities 2018 Event Operations Plan <br />Laptops will be set-up in the Event Command Center and Event Operations Center for use by Tough <br />Mudder staff. Internet access will be available through Tough Mudder owned technology <br />equipment in order to service our Registration Platform, Eventbrite. <br />Scanners will be used to check in participants and spectators and to assign bib numbers to the <br />runners. This information is available in real time to those in the Event Command Center so <br />information about all participants on course, including Emergency Contact Information, is readily <br />available based on bib number. Staff working at the Information Tent in the Base Area will also <br />have iPads in order to check in participants and troubleshoot any registration issues. <br />SAFETY <br />The health and safety of all participants, spectators, staff and others on -site throughout Tough <br />Mudder Twin Cities is a priority of the Event Team. <br />Responsibility for managing incidents across the event site rests with the Tough Mudder Event <br />Team, led by the Event Director. <br />OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY <br />Tough Mudder uses the following protocol to make sure the event site is as safe as possible and to <br />minimize the risk of harm to any individual: <br />➢ Guidelines have been developed and will be implemented at the event, including: <br />o Loading and Unloading Vehicles <br />o Setting Up and Packing Down Infrastructure <br />o Use of Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) <br />➢ In the event of an incident, one or more experienced team members have been designated <br />as 'safety officer' to assist in the management of the incident. <br />➢ A series of checks are carried out to ensure the site is safe before gates are opened to <br />participants and spectators. <br />MEDICAL ARRANGEMENTS <br />Tough Mudder events attract large numbers of people and are physically challenging by their <br />nature. Tough Mudder's Medical Director, Dr. Stuart Weiss, has been responsible for confirming <br />that the staffing levels at each obstacle are in line with Tough Mudder's Standard Operating <br />Procedures and Medical Protocol. Dr. Weiss' team, MedPrep, has been responsible for coordinating <br />local resources to ensure the event is fully staffed with the correct number of medical personnel of <br />each certification level, and ambulances have been contracted to stage at the event and respond to <br />any and all incidents requiring ALS level care. <br />There will be a medical presence on site at all times while participants and spectators are on -site. <br />Medical personnel ranging from first responders to paramedics will be stationed at various <br />locations around the course, and there will be a medical triage tent in Mudder Village, ensuring a <br />Page 12 of 13 <br />
