Washington County had stated their interested in taking over the assessing for the City; however, the Council has always indicated their interest in maintaining a local assessor. Staff had sent out another request for proposals with a due date of June 29, 2018. If the City does not find a contract assessor, there is the option to contract with Washington County or hire a fulltime City employee, which would likely be more expensive. The Council questioned whether, if the City hired its own assessor, the assessor could be hired out to other Cities, and questioned how negotiable the County's contract would be. Bear replied that he knew of no other cities looking for an assessor, and he has not received a proposal from the County yet. The Council directed staff to have information for them at the next meeting, after the closing for proposals, and include information from Washington County. Update on the Yellow Ribbon Network Council Member Chuck Haas and Phil Klein reported to Council on the Yellow Ribbon Network activities held recently. The YRN received a request from Washington County Sheriff's Office to assist with home repairs for a service member on his 12th deployment. Haas shared thank you notes and photos of care package recipients, and a photo of the table and chairs donated to the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans. The YRN has found volunteers to care for pets belonging to deployed service members. Burger night is Wednesday, June 27, 2018 Grand Opening for St. Andrew's Family Shelter on Sunday, June 24, 2018 City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council they had been invited to the grand opening celebration of the St. Andrew's Family Shelter to be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at 2 p.m. The house is located at 14383 Forest Boulevard North, next to St. Johns the Baptist Church, and is owned by St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. Petryk made motion, Klein seconded, to schedule a meeting to attend the St. Andrew's Family Shelter on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. All Ayes. Motion carried. Reschedule City Administrator Performance Review to Mondav, June 25, 2018 City Administrator Bryan Bear recommended Council reschedule the performance review. Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to reschedule the City Administrator performance review to Monday, June 25, 2018, at 5 p.m. Motion carried. Clear Water Creek Open House on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission was hosting an open house on Tuesday, June 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hugo City Hall to gather input from residents on Clearwater Creek Preserve.
