loat We ()for
YOUTH INTERVENTION SERVICES follows a
restorative justice model that brings together
the youth, their family, aryl the community to
offer redirection and support. Educational
classes are offered for parents and teens.
* Staged photo, not actual intervention clients.
Programs include a weekly teen 12-step addiction recovery group called "Our Place," Teen
Intervene (TI) for teens with mild to moderate chemical use, Chemical Health screens and Rule 25
Chemical Health assessments, and services for youth suspended from school. Intervention
services also offers Reasoning Skills Programs (RSP) for ages 10 —17 to help build and strengthen
decision making.
A Good Starting Point...
A youth came to us through diversion for a chemical related offense and was referred to our 12-
step group, Our Place. He was attending regularly, and continued to attend even after he met his
requirements for his diversion program. His parents were also very involved and asked what other
programs we had to offer.
The youth and his family decided he would like to attend "Launch," one of our new enrichment
programs. Since he came to us through the diversion program, the youth has identified his struggles
with school, set goals for the semester, and come up with strategies to address his challenges. He
has been following through on his strategies, and has shown improvement in the completion of his
school work this semester.
T,h e Impact We Make
We believe when youth have healthy relationships, meaningful involvement and relevant learning experiences,
they grow up able to care for themselves, care for others and contribute to the world in a positive way. LC4YF
programs integrate these three components:
Healthy relationships within families, with positive adult role model and with peers.
• Meaningful involvement within their communities, providing powerful opportunities to learn about and engage in the world
around them.
• Relevant learning Experiences within their world, of their choosing, and free from judgment.
