Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for August 6, 2018 <br />Page 8 of 11 <br />Weidt made motion, Haas seconded, to direct staff to prepare an amendment to City code to <br />allow for alternate commissioners. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Rice Creek Watershed District Manager John Waller <br />Rice Creek Watershed District Manager John Waller had asked to address the Council to discuss <br />watershed district taxes collected by Washington County for each municipality. Waller talked <br />about how the money collected for the County should be spent in the County, and he asked that <br />Council keep the pressure on the district and ask for the money. <br />Yellow Ribbon Network Report <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Council Member Phil Klein reported to Council on the Yellow <br />Ribbon Network activities held recently. Haas showed pictures of care package preparation and <br />some of the care package recipients. Schwieters Companies had provided a lot of items, and WSB <br />Engineering will be doing the same. He also showed pictures of Fort Hood helicopter training, Xcel <br />Energy Burger Night sponsor, and volunteers who went to the Stillwater Army picnic. A request <br />from widow who needed her lawn mowed was fulfilled by a Hugo Public Works employee and his <br />son. A Gold Star Mom needed a new mower, and Hugo Equipment Company gave the family a <br />good deal. <br />TGK Automotive Groundbreaking Ceremony on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council that TGK Automotive Specialists and Sullivan <br />Day Construction had invited them to the Groundbreaking Ceremony for TGK's new <br />headquarters to be located at 13891 Forest Boulevard North (former End Zone property). The <br />ceremony will take place on Tuesday, August 7, 2108 at 9 a.m. This had been posted as a <br />possible meeting of the Council. <br />National Night Out Tuesday, August 7, 2018 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded Council a meeting had been scheduled to attend <br />National Night Out events on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Staff provided Council a list of <br />neighborhood events. <br />Lions Community Scramble Golf and YRN Fundraiser on Sunday, August 12, 2018 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council that the Hugo Lions Club was sponsoring a <br />Community Scramble Golf event with proceeds going to the Hugo Yellow Ribbon Network. The <br />event was scheduled for Sunday, August 12, 2108, at the Oneka Ridge Golf Course. <br />Primary Election Tuesday, August 14, 2018 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded Council the State Primary Election will take place on <br />Tuesday, August 14, 2018.
