Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for August 20, 2018 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the MOA with RCWD and apply for the Board <br />of Water and Soil Resources Clean Water Fund Project and Practices Grant. <br /> <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Update on National Night Out <br /> <br />National night out was held on Tuesday August 7, 2018. The Council met and attended many <br />neighborhood events. Some of the comments received were a desire to see a flag pole in front <br />of the City Hall building, long waits at the stop light coming from 147th on to TH61, need for <br />alternatives for senior transportation, and need more places to eat and shop. There was also talk <br />about the popularity of the one-level townhome product. Council commented on the number of <br />events and apologized for missing some of the neighborhoods. They also stated they <br />appreciated the Hugo Fire Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and Washington <br />County Attorney Pete Orput’s attendance at the events. <br /> <br />Yellow Ribbon Network Update <br /> <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Council Member Phil Klein reported on the Yellow Ribbon <br />Network activities held recently. Haas talked about the success of the golf event at Oneka <br />Ridge and he showed some pictures. There were also pictures of a care packaging event with <br />donations from Schwieters Companies. Hand written notes were sent to soldiers, and a request <br />for greeting cards was immediately met. The Hugo Lions Club will be sponsoring the next <br />Burger Night, and Winter Carnival royalty is expected to be at Burger Night in October. <br /> <br />White Bear Lake Chamber Breakfast Meeting on Thursday, August 23, 2018 <br /> <br />Rachel Juba provided a reminder that the White Bear Lake Chamber was hosting a meeting on <br />Thursday, August 23, 2018, at 7:30 a.m. at Hugo City Hall. This will be a roundtable <br />discussion on the impact of tariffs to businesses in the White Bear Lake Area. This had been <br />scheduled as a meeting, and staff had RSVP’d to the Chamber. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to adjourn at 7:22 p.m. <br /> <br />All Ayes.
