Page 2 of 2 <br />Parks Commission Agenda <br />September 19, 2018 <br /> <br />Background <br />Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission <br />Meeting of September 19, 2018 <br />Hugo City Hall, 7:00 pm <br /> <br />Approve Minutes from August 15, 2018 Meeting <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes of the Parks Commission meeting of August 15, 2018. <br />PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED MINUTES. <br /> <br />Clearwater Creek Preserve Concept Plan <br />At the meeting of February 21, 2018, the Parks Commission had discussion on an Active Living Grant from the <br />Statewide Health Improvement Program through Washington County. The City of Hugo received $15,000 to <br />master plan Clearwater Creek Preserve, in particular to enhance community engagement. This spring, the <br />site was evaluated and the wetlands were delineated. An open house was held on June 26, 2018 to gather <br />input from residents on the future of the park. An online forum and survey was also available. A good <br />amount of input was received from residents to help guide the plan. At the Parks Commission meeting of <br />August 15, 2018, three concept plans were presented for further discussion. A preferred concept plan has <br />been drafted incorporating all of the input received on Clearwater Creek Preserve. <br /> <br />Candace Amberg, Sr. Landscape Architect with WSB & Associates will present the preferred concept plan to <br />the Parks Commission. <br /> <br />Bald Eagle Lake Access Hours <br />A request has been received from a resident that lives adjacent to the city-owned property on Bald Eagle <br />Lake. The property provides walk-in lake access off of Everton Avenue near 121st Street. The resident is <br />requesting the park hours be adjusted to restrict use of the property after dark. <br /> <br />Recreation Program Updates <br />Tour de Hugo September 22 <br />Memory Café Starting September 27 <br />Fall Movie Night September 28 <br />Fire Department Open House/ Bus Tour/ Fall Clean Up October 6 <br />Princess Party November 3 <br />
