BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE EDA MEETING OF <br />TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2016 <br />3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes from the August 16, 2016, EDA meeting as presented. <br />4. UPDATE ON WASHINGTON COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />Over the last few months a work group of economic development staff of Washington County cities has <br />been meeting. Chris Eng, Economic Development Director at Washington County has been hosting the <br />meetings. The group has been working on prioritizing possible economic development efforts for the <br />County. The County has also invited speakers to present to the work group, some include representatives <br />from DEED Office of Business Development and Xcel Energy. Staff will provide an update to the EDA <br />on the meetings. <br />5. UPDATE ON RUSH LINE CORRIDOR <br />Staff has been attending the Rush Line Corridor Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meetings. They <br />are closer to identifying a locally preferred alternative (LPA), or a route and mode for the corridor. Staff <br />will present information to the EDA on the route and mode options for the corridor. Staff is not looking <br />for a formal recommendation at this time. <br />6. UPDATE ON RAIL LINE <br />Staff will provide an update to the EDA on the rail line. <br />7. UPDATE ON DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT <br />Staff will provide an update to the EDA on downtown redevelopment. <br />
