fCITY OF Hugo 2040
W-W Comprehensive Plan Update
EST. 1908
Participant Responses
June 13, 2017 Eastern Hugo Open House
The following is a summary of the responses received at the Eastern Hugo Open House Workshop
on June13, 2017. Staff estimates that approximately 40 people attended the Workshop.
1. Are there any primary concerns about your property or about development in
Eastern Hugo?
- Internet service is VERY limited. I've called the City to determine if there are additional
options. Last fall (2016) Century Link was installing a fiber service. I've contacted them
and nothing is available to our property. —Doug and Diane Anderson, 9815 17011 Street
N
- The development of "Future Irish Ave Park." We would like to see it stay open public,
non -motor space. -Niki Anderson, 14107 Hyde Ave N
- No increase in density beyond 10 -acre minimum. -Anonymous
- Sewer not needed since that drives density. -Anonymous
- I think Cluster Development is useful in certain areas that are already on path to
development. To me, cities are best served with diverse offerings. Hugo has
development in the West, open space in the East. We shouldn't open the door to
density in the east with cluster development. Keep 10 -acre minimum to discourage
development. This will do a better job of protecting farmland and resources than
planning developments. -Jim Dropps 9783 122nd St N
- Would like to keep 10 -acre minimum. -Carol Swiden, 9250 13011 St. N
- 1. Internet service is poor.
2. When the county was resurfacing Cty 8, there were plans to expand it because of
federal/state $. Then it suddenly changed and it was just milled/overlay. Was this
change a knee-jerk response, is it a temporary fix, or??
3. Allow ATVs in Eastern Hugo. I will help draft the regulations. -John N Bartunek,
13936 Isleton Ave N
- I want to divide my land, total 17.65 acres with a lot of lakeshore: 2 separate lots of
appox 7.65 and 10 acres. The 10 acre would be a new building site, on a hill sloping to
lake shore. I would also like to try and make a combo driveway to eliminate a new
access into Co Rd 7 for safety reasons. —Juanita Lovegren, 8355 122nd St N
- No Cluster homes — Sue & Ron Bragg, 15649 Jeffrey Ave N
June 13, 2017 CITY DF
Eastern Hugo Open House
