As a landowner of a family farm (137 acres) that is surrounded by acre developed lots,
my concern is to reclaim the value (development potential) of my property, which in my
opinion can only be achieved by reducing minimum lot size from 10 acres to 5 acres.
This is my family's legacy and retirement asset. -David Wlaschin, 12140 Illies Ave N
- Preservation of the rifle and archery range. Preservation of the woodlands for hunting
and natural resources.
- If property is bordered on most sides by 5 -acre lots why should the 1/10 acre be
maintained? — Cathy Scobie, 7676 120th St & 12140, Illies Ave N
- What sets Hugo apart from other cities is that it does not at this time feel over-
crowded, packed with people and have "cookie -cutter" filled wall to wall homes. I love
the rural feel. We need better internet service. We would not like it if parcels went
below 10 acres for rural development. -Gina and Steve Sadowski, 15960 Jeffrey Ave N
- Can the definition of Eastern Hugo change? I.e."zoning" of what is considered Eastern
Hugo? (map) — Bart Cuthrie, 8991 13011 St. N
- My primary concern is to plan for sewer in Eastern Hugo and allow flexible options for
future development which does not have primary purpose of protecting natural
resources. Sewer connection pipes have been increased since first constructed. -John
Waller, 14010 Homestead Ave N
- Just would like lots of space for parks & recreation; outdoor activity — Already on the
list.
- I enjoy our "rural living" on the east side of Hugo, except for the dirt roads. Paving our
remaining dirt roads would be my request. -Neil Fagerhaugh, 9511 140 St N
- It is a worry about fire department services with no hydrants. Water could be an issue.
Does water come with the sewer? - Kathy Brevig, 14120 Hyde Ave N
2. What should Hugo look like in 20 years? 40 years?
- 20 -Some development but preserve the small town feel and farm/ hobby farm lifestyle.
40 -small developments with land conservation plans in place, promote small town
feel. —Doug and Diane Anderson, 9815 17011 Street N
- We would like to have more rec space on our side of town. More paths, or paths in
general. There is no save pavement areas to run or bike from our home. (Dump trucks
drive 50+ mph down 14011) -Niki Anderson, 14107 Hyde Ave N
- 10 -acre home sites. That is why most of us moved out here. -Anonymous
- Density in West, the same in the east. Farmland will become more scarce in the future,
we should preserve it by discouraging development on it. -Jim Dropps, 9783 122nd St N
- It should reflect what the residents of Hugo want in 20 and 40. -Carol Swiden, 9250
13011 St. N
- SAME — Richard Verdick, 13561 Homestead Ave
CITY OF
Eastern Hugo Open House, June 13, 2017.
