As part of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan update, the City has held several meetings with residents, Commissions, and Council to gather feedback and understand community priorities and what has changed since that time. 2. City Council Meeting The City Council reviewed the Comprehensive Plan and held a public hearing on April 4, 2018. At that time, Council approved the 2040 Comprehensive Plan for Distribution to affected jurisdictions and to the Metropolitan Council for preliminary review. 3. Affected Jurisdictions Review Local governments are required to share their proposed plan updates with affected jurisdictions at least six months before they submit their plans to the Metropolitan Council for review. The City of Hugo is then required to respond to comments from affected jurisdictions submitted within the six- month period. As required by the Metropolitan Council, the City of Hugo provided a draft of the Comprehensive Plan to adjacent and affected jurisdictions for their review. The City adhered to the mandatory six-month review period. The City of Hugo received written responses from the Metropolitan Council, the Housing Justice Center, the Transportation Division of Anoka County, the City of Columbus, MN DNR, Forest Lake Area School District, the City of Lino Lakes, Mahtomedi Public School District, MN DOT, Rice Creek Watershed District, the City of Scandia, Stillwater Area Public School District, the All Parks Alliance for Change, and Washington County. 4. Updates to the 2040 Comprehensive Plan No major updates to the Comprehensive Plan were required as a result of the remainder of affected jurisdictions feedback.
