As part of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan update, the City has held several <br />meetings with residents, Commissions, and Council to gather feedback and understand community <br />priorities and what has changed since that time. <br />2. City Council Meeting <br />The City Council reviewed the Comprehensive Plan and held a public hearing on April 4, 2018. At <br />that time, Council approved the 2040 Comprehensive Plan for Distribution to affected jurisdictions <br />and to the Metropolitan Council for preliminary review. <br />3. Affected Jurisdictions Review <br />Local governments are required to share their proposed plan updates with affected jurisdictions at <br />least six months before they submit their plans to the Metropolitan Council for review. The City of <br />Hugo is then required to respond to comments from affected jurisdictions submitted within the six- <br />month period. As required by the Metropolitan Council, the City of Hugo provided a draft of the <br />Comprehensive Plan to adjacent and affected jurisdictions for their review. The City adhered to the <br />mandatory six-month review period. <br />The City of Hugo received written responses from the Metropolitan Council, the Housing Justice <br />Center, the Transportation Division of Anoka County, the City of Columbus, MN DNR, Forest Lake <br />Area School District, the City of Lino Lakes, Mahtomedi Public School District, MN DOT, Rice Creek <br />Watershed District, the City of Scandia, Stillwater Area Public School District, the All Parks Alliance <br />for Change, and Washington County. <br />4. Updates to the 2040 Comprehensive Plan <br />No major updates to the Comprehensive Plan were required as a result of the remainder of affected <br />jurisdictions feedback. The following is a list of the primary updates that were incorporated into the <br />2040 Comprehensive Plan: <br />• Interactive links were developed for the document, making navigation easier <br />Landform®, SensiblyGreen® and Site to Finish® are registered service marks of Landform Professional Services, LLC. <br />
