Event Description <br />The Hugo and Oneka 5K Color Run is a fund-raising event for the Oneka Elementary and Hugo <br />Elementary schools. Students and families will get donations and earn rewards for the amount of <br />money raised for participation in the 5K family run/walk. The run will take place on Oneka <br />Parkway beginning at the school, south along the east side of Oneka Parkway to Frenchman <br />Road, north along the west side of Oneka Parkway, and ending back at the school. Washington <br />County Deputies will be stationed at the halfway point of the race, at the Frenchman/Oneka <br />Parkway intersection, and the Oneka Parkway/Farnham Road intersection. Adult crossing <br />guards will be at all other intersections to block any traffic from entering onto Oneka Parkway <br />and to direct runners. There will be four color stations along the route where participants are <br />sprayed with a non -toxic water-soluble color. <br />Registration will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The race will begin at 10 a.m. and will end <br />around 11 am, when the last runner comes through the finish line. Parking will be at the front <br />entrance of the school and the event activities will be held in the busing area where there will be <br />a DJ playing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Muffins, apples, bananas and water will be supplied free of <br />charge by Meister's Bar and Grill in Scandia. Two 10' X 20' tents will be used and there will be <br />an inflatable arch at the beginning/end of the race. <br />Additional Information <br />• We estimate 800 people will attend. <br />• We will need road crossing barriers delivered before 8:00 am the morning of May 4th for <br />each of the 6 Oneka Parkway intersections, (15) total barriers. (4) at Frenchman/Oneka <br />Parkway intersection, (1) at 149a'/Oneka Parkway intersection, (4) at Farnham/Oneka <br />Parkway intersection, (1) at the Northern Farnham/Oneka Parkway intersection, (4) at <br />Heritage/Oneka Parkway intersection, and (1)at 159d'/Oneka Parkway intersection. <br />• No Parking and Race In Progress signs will be used to direct car traffic away from race <br />course. <br />
