BACKGROUND: <br />A Special Event Permit application has been submitted by David Streitz on behalf of <br />New Life Church to hold outdoor events on Sunday, June 9th and Sunday October 6th <br />on their property at 6000 148th Street North. A Special Event Permit is required for <br />the amplified system they will be using during the event. <br />2. DESCRIPTION OF EVENT: <br />The June 9, 2019, event will be a free outdoor service held from 9-10:30 a.m. <br />followed by a picnic from noon-4 p.m. Approximately 100 people are expected to <br />attend. The event will include a potluck and games. Amplified sound will be used for <br />the service and possibly for games during the picnic. There may also be a few small <br />canopy tents set up for the event. <br />The October 6, 2019, event will be a free outdoor gathering from 2-5:30 p.m. that <br />will include a small band, hayrides, outdoor games, and possibly an inflatable bounce <br />tent. There may also be a few small canopy tents set up for the event. <br />3. CONDITIONS: <br />The applicant has provided the City the completed permit, signed Hold Harmless <br />Agreement, and permit fees. In accordance with this permit, the applicant shall conduct <br />the event as described on their application. <br />4. CONCLUSION/RECOMMENDATION: <br />New Life Church has held this event in previous years with no impact to the health, <br />safety, or welfare of Hugo residents or visitors. Staff recommends Council approve the <br />Special Event Permit. <br />The event as described has been approved by the Hugo City Council on March 15, <br />2019. <br />Michele Lindau, City Clerk Date <br />
