2 <br />Kidz ‘N Biz <br />Saturday, April 6 <br />11:00 am - 2:00 pm <br />Oneka Elementary School <br />Sponsored by the Hugo Business Association <br />and the Economic Development Authority, <br />Kidz ‘n Biz brings together businesses and <br />residents of Hugo for hours of games, <br />entertainment and fun. <br />Admission is free! <br />Story Hour <br />in the Park! <br />Second Monday of Every Month <br />10:30 am <br />Read, play, sing, and talk together with fun <br />stories and activities to develop early literacy <br />skills. Check out books at a pop-up library <br />following the activities. This program is hosted <br />by the Washington County Library. Through <br />May, the program will be in the Oneka Room <br />at Hugo City Hall. May through September, <br />the program will move to Lions Park. <br />Park Play Days <br />Monday - Thursday <br />9:00 am to 12:00 pm <br />Hanifl Fields Athletic Park <br />Session 1: June 10-July 11 <br />Session 2: July 15-August 15 <br />Children ages 4-12 are invited to come play <br />and learn with YMCA staff at Hanifl Fields <br />Athletic Park. Every week has a specific theme <br />with different crafts, games, and activities. <br />Community safety, mentoring, and healthy <br />lifestyle days are just a few of the themes this <br />year! All seniors welcome! The club <br />regularly meets the 3rd Monday of each <br />month at 1 pm in the Rice Lake Center <br />for a brief meeting followed by games. <br />Additional gatherings include: <br />• Bag lunches and games on the 1st and <br />3rd Thursdays of each month at noon. <br />• Cribbage on the 4th Monday of each <br />month at 1 pm. <br />For more information, contact <br />Barb Connolly at 651-429-0883. <br /> <br />THINGS TO DO <br />THIS SPRING & SUMMER <br />Make New Friends!Meet Your Neighbors! <br />REDUCE, REUSE <br />AND REPLENISH <br />The City of Hugo continues <br />to “reduce, reuse and <br />replenish” our water resources for <br />the purposes of being good stewards <br />of the resource by: <br />• Conserving water that is pumped <br />from the ground <br />• Implementing stormwater reuse <br />projects <br />• Working with residents and <br /> businesses to slow the growth <br /> rate of water usage <br />The City is encouraging smart watering <br />this summer specifically for lawn <br />irrigation, filling of swimming pools, <br />and other outdoor summertime uses. <br />Water Rate Changes: In order to <br />operate our water supply, the City is <br />required to implement certain conserva- <br />tion measures as required by the DNR. <br />One of those measures requires the <br />City to adopt an increasing block rate <br />schedule to discourage wasteful use of <br />drinking water.
