The project
will include a roundabout at Flay Avenue, converting the rural
section of the roadway to an urban section roadway with concrete
curb and gutter, storm sewer, and the construction of a bituminous
trail along the entire length of the project. Construction is
anticipated to start in June and will be completed in two phases
to lessen impacts on the traveling public. Please check the
City of Hugo’s website for future updates on this project.
Please allow extra time and reduce your speeds when traveling
through the construction area.
Chip Seal Program
The City’s chip seal program has been discontinued because of the
inadequate performance of the product, as well as complaints
generated from residents. Funds that were used towards this program
have been re-allocated into the street maintenance CIP fund.
City of Hugo Water Tower
As the community continues to grow, the City of Hugo has identi-
fied the need for additional water supply and storage as is required
for everyday use and fire protection. The City acquired property

located south of 125th Street, near the Oneka Ridge Golf Course, for
the construction of a well and the new 1,500,000 gallon water tower,
which will also improve water pressures in the southern portion of
Hugo. Work on the tower will begin in the coming months and will
be completed and operational in 2020.
Stormwater
The City maintains many stormwater ponds, control structures,
ditches, and wetlands. We ask residents to help us keep these features
in good condition with one simple lawn care tip: Do not blow
grass clippings into the roadways or stormwater ponds.
These clippings decompose
and turn into nutrients which
cause algae blooms in the
ponds.
If you live on a stormwater
feature and you notice a
structure is plugged please
call the City so maintenance
crews can remove the
obstruction.
IMPROVEMENT UPDATES

N
Hugo Cleanup Days
Saturday, April 13 · 8 am – Noon | Saturday, October 12 · 8 am – Noon
Hugo
Public Works Building
6900 137th St. N.
Home Improvement:
• Latex /oil paint & stain
• Paint remover/thinner
Automotive & Recreation:
• Antifreeze
• Used motor oil and filters
• Propane tanks
• Rechargeable batteries
Yard & Garden:
• Insect/roach/ant killer
• Fertilizers/herbicides
Location
Questions?
