Page 2 of 2 <br />Parks Commission Agenda <br />June 19, 2019 <br /> <br />Background <br />Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission <br />Meeting of June 19, 2019 <br />Hugo City Hall, 7:00 pm <br /> <br />Approve Minutes from May 15, 2019 Meeting <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes of the Parks Commission meeting of May 15, 2019. <br />PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED MINUTES. <br /> <br />Update on Trail Feasibility Study <br />At the meeting of April 17, 2019, the Parks Commission approved a feasibility study of the mission trail <br />connections around 130th Street and the Hardwood Creek Regional Trail. Funding was received through an <br />active living partnership project with Living Healthy Washington County and the Statewide Health <br />Improvement Program (SHIP). The total cost of the feasibility study, preliminary design, and project report is <br />estimated to be $13,000 with $10,000 being covered by the SHIP funds. <br /> <br />WSB completed the site evaluation and has proposed three potential trail layouts. Staff will present the <br />conceptual trail locations for input by the Parks Commission. <br />PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED CONCEPTS. <br /> <br />Park Prioritization Exercise <br />The City Council held a park funding workshop with the Parks Commission on May 13, 2019. The City Council <br />and Parks Commission discussed parks usage, phasing and prioritizing of park improvements, and funding <br />options. The Parks Commission agreed to have further discussions about prioritizing park improvements and <br />wanted to better understand the costs of the improvements. The City Council agreed they would discuss park <br />funding options during the budget review process. <br /> <br />Staff has prepared an exercise for the Parks Commission to discuss their priorities for future park <br />improvements. <br />THE EXISTING PARKS AND OPEN SPACE MAP IS ATTACHED.
